Our Editorial Process
How we research, write, medically review, fact-check and update every article.
1. Expert writers
Our writers are health journalists, dietitians, public health specialists and clinicians who cover the topics they know best.
2. Evidence-based sourcing
We use high-quality sources only: peer-reviewed journals, government health agencies, professional medical associations and academic institutions. Every article lists its sources so you can read them yourself.
3. Medical review
Before publishing, health content is reviewed by a licensed professional on our medical review board — such as a physician, pharmacist, registered dietitian or psychologist — whose name and credentials appear on the page.
Our workflow is: Draft → Medical Review → Approved → Published. Content can't be published until a reviewer has approved it.
4. Fact-checking
News and time-sensitive stories are fact-checked against original sources before publication.
5. Ongoing updates
Medical guidance changes. We re-review every article at least once every 12 months, and sooner when important new evidence or guidelines emerge. Each page shows the date it was last updated and a revision history.
Product reviews
When we recommend products, our team researches and vets them for quality, safety and evidence. We may earn a commission from some links, but this never influences what we recommend. See our advertising policy.
Corrections
If we make a mistake, we fix it promptly and note significant corrections in the article's revision history. To report an error, use our contact form and choose "Report an error".
